Welcome to the first installment of Willow's Word. While this blog began as someone else's bright idea, I find that I have already taken to it as a duckling would a pond...and what a pond it shall be. With Second Life as a backdrop, the wild blue truly is the only limit. A world of wonder awaits...
I wrestled with the title of this blog at first, but it is Willow's Word; I hope that you enjoy reading it and find its twists and turns worthy of your interest. You will note that I am quite talkative, much of the time, and that I do have quite a bit to say on most topics; so before I go any further let me state clearly: I am a seeker and not a "know-it-all." Everything I state here is either factual (to the best of my knowledge), my opinion or simply a collection of my reflections, my musings. In the latter case, I claim poetic license and I expect you to grant me the freedom to create with words the dreamscapes I see in my mind and heart. Moreover, you will often find more questions than answers here; that's fortunate, for questions are ever so much more important and interesting than answers...
To keep things more captivating and varied, once in awhile a guest blogger will be invited in; I trust that you will find his or her ramblings a refreshing change from my own. Should something spark your imiagination or touch your heart, please share your thoughts or feelings. I rarely check the email address affiliated with this blog, but promise to check it now and again. Remember, you are welcome to reply to my posts, for I hope we meet on this common ground to enjoy lively conversation. You may also IM me in-world if you are a resident of Second Life. If not, consider becoming one...you won't regret it!
A final comment: Thank you for being here! This is a grand adventure and I am happy to welcome you along. Note that I am constantly learning, so please don't hesitate to add information to my personal wiki...and please do be civil in the process. A civil word is golden treasure...
NOTE: The photos above and the one below were taken at Creative Fantasy at Spellbound Woods in Second Life. As those who know me realise, I love winter and have been quite happy bopping around Second Life these past two months and exploring ice caverns and hiking snowy hills. At Spellbound Woods, there is a celebration of winter that includes skating, walking through icy forested areas, and the opportunity to see sweet cottages and warm homes - and the great ice castle - all decked out for winter holidays. Christmas trees (and mistletoe!) abound. And if you're anything like me, you are wondering just what is down that path behind me... If you like winter, you will love this place. Note in the photos above the ruby red cardinals in the snow-boughed tree - promising spring? Or more glorious winter? Hmmm...
Those details: My diary is full of thoughts and feelings from my time at Spellbound Woods:
I am...spellbound, given to paths uncharted, to roads not taken in the snowy wood.
Discovery draws me and treasures found often fade too soon in the light of it, leaving traces and graces as they go.
Some of them change me forever....
